The Schiller Institute and Computer Science department at Boston College invites applications for a postdoctoral position at the intersection of climate modeling, health, and machine learning. There is a need for climate scientists, mental health experts, and data scientists to work together to link population-based mental health data to climate data for association and causal inference studies. We seek a postdoctoral fellow who will work under the supervision of Professors Yi Ming and George Mohler to develop new multiscale causal inference and machine learning methods for understanding the connection between global climate and local human health.
Qualifications
The candidate should have a Ph.D. in physical, mathematical, or computer science with experience in climate modeling, causal inference, or deep learning with spatial and time series data. Candidates should also be proficient in programming in Python, R, and/or Matlab.
Required Materials:
-
Cover letter describing the candidate’s research interest and suitability for the position
-
